The Challenge
The novelty and gifting category is hyper-trend-driven. A product can go from unknown to viral overnight and if your ads and SEO aren't ready, a competitor captures all the demand. Bear Hugs needed a website that could handle fast product launches, a social media strategy that rode trends in real time, and PPC campaigns agile enough to capitalize on viral moments within hours. At the same time, the brand needed to build long-term trust and recognition beyond just the products so customers returned to Bear Hugs first whenever the next trend hit.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the website with a trend-first UX featuring a dynamic bestsellers section, new arrivals showcase, and curated category pages (Gadgets, Toys, Stationery, Bags, Jewelry) that made browsing addictive. Product pages were optimized for impulse purchase fast-loading, mobile-first, with gifting angle copy and urgency elements that reduced drop-off at the decision point.
For social media, we built a content engine around trending product moments creating reels, unboxing-style videos, and comparison content that tapped into the same viral energy that made these products popular globally. Every trending product launch was accompanied by a coordinated social push.
PPC campaigns on Google Shopping and Meta were structured for agility with product-specific ad sets ready to scale the moment a new item started trending. Search campaigns captured high-intent buyers already searching for Stanley Cups, Capybara lamps, and similar trending SKUs, while Meta campaigns targeted gifting intent audiences — birthdays, anniversaries, and novelty seekers with scroll-stopping creative.
